During week two we went more in depth with our research and also breaking down our project into different parts. We have a few very important parts to this project that we know we must focus on. The most important thing we needed to figure out is how will the humans that are living in this underwater habitat breathe. We thought about fish and how they are able to breathe with their gills, so we went into further research to try to find a way to take the oxygen out of the water. One small scale experiment we have thought about doing is an electrolysis experiment where we would separate the hydrogen and the oxygen and use that as a source of oxygen. We also thought a more simple idea could be to have a elevator type tube that will be a part of the habitat that is exposed above water so the air can get down there that way.
Inspirations for the possible shapes of the habitat were drawn from looking at underwater creatures. This will help the home to appear as though it belongs underwater and therefore will be less of a disturbance to the creatures that already reside there.
